Baby's First Scan

Well - here's the Pope / Mary Mags.....

Pictures aren't the best but BH (aka Baby Hughes) was movin' and groovin'. The best pic is of BH stretching, where it appears longest - has already inherited it's parents fat guts.

Thankfully, and we say that with much glee, there was only one in there.

I'm actually 14 weeks - BH was measuring 8.5cm long and the sonographer said it's brain was perfect (again, taking after it's parents). Ian was asking if there was a willy there - wishful thinking on his part I think.....how big does he think these things are?!

After all that, went for my height, weight (??) measurements and blood pressure. Then we had a longish session with the midwife - going through all the stuff etc etc. BH is being born at the QEII (not the ship unfortunately) which is situated about a 15-20 min drive from our place in Welwyn Garden City and due date is still 4 July.......had all my bloods taken then we were off. Going back on 17 January for a Serum Screening, which basically checks the risk factor for Downs Syndrome. Then next session won't be till early/mid-Feb for my 20 week scan and further stuff - that one is going to be great.....only 6 weeks to go (christ, that also means I'm halfway there!!).

Hope you're all well and have an awesome New Years - have a drink for me & BH. Don't have a drink for Ian coz I'm sure he'll sort that out himself.

Lots and lots of love,

Sez

Week 13

Hi everyone,

So tomorrow is first scan of Baby Hughes (The Immaculate Conception).

We are both nervous and excited and hope that everything is a-ok. Also, there is a niggling in the back of our heads that the radiographer will say that there are more than one in there. Mmm. Twins in the family, it is possible.

We won't know baby's sex until around Week 20 (so around Valentine's Day) but we're still deciding what to do - I know some of the family don't want to find out till D-Day.

We found out I was preggers a few weeks after my 30th (early Nov) and since I have been VERY sick. Ian thinks it a comedy act, yeah, I find it hilarious - stopping the car, brushing my teeth, change in temperature, anything will get me going - it hasn't been fun but I can say that the worst of it is over. Now I'm just constantly tired - I could sleep for Africa I tell ya.

I look huge and it's only going to get bigger - I'm refusing to go out and buy maternity stuff but I think it's starting to get the better of me......oh well, we have to look crap some time in our lives hey (coz you know I always look lovely....ha ha ha ha).

Will scan picture of Bubbie tomorrow and maybe one of my fat gut.

Hope you all have a great New Years - I'll be drinking OJ and scoffing my face with food.

Love Sez
